The short version

Timber fencing is the default along most Melbourne and Geelong back boundaries, and there is a reason for it. Done properly it is private, it looks right against a brick or weatherboard house, and it is straightforward to repair one panel at a time.

We install new timber fencing and replace tired fencing right across Melbourne and Geelong. Paling fences, privacy fencing, and the awkward boundaries nobody else wants: sloping blocks, retaining walls, lines that have to work around a neighbour's shed.

Most of the difference between a fence that lasts and one that leans is in the parts you cannot see once it is up. Post depth, concrete, the spacing of the rails and whether the timber was any good to begin with. We do not cut corners there because that is where fences fail.

What we build

Residential fencing, mostly. If it is a boundary fence on a house, it is in our wheelhouse.

New boundaries on new builds, subdivisions and blocks that have never had a fence on them.
02 Replacement fencing
Taking out a fence that has had it and putting a straight one back in its place.

04 Repairs and sections

Timber fencing: your questions

Not covered here? Ring Curtis on 0434 548 135 and ask.

Who pays for a boundary fence?

In Victoria a shared boundary fence is generally a shared cost between the two owners, and there is a formal notice process for it. We are happy to provide a written quote you can give your neighbour. For the legal detail, Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria is the place to check.

Do you remove the old fence?

Yes. Removal and disposal of the old fence is included in the quote unless you specifically want to keep it.

Can you fence a sloping block?

Yes. Sloping boundaries get either stepped or raked panels depending on the fall and what looks right against the house. We will go through it on site.
